Goddard Riverside Community Center is a non-profit social service
agency, providing a variety of programs and services to
residents of all ages on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
The center was created in 1959 when Goddard Neighborhood Center
(founded in 1901) and Riverside Community House
(founded in 1889) merged and moved from their original
locations to the Upper West Side.
It is one of 38 "settlement houses" located throughout New York City,
and is a member of the United Neighborhood Houses of New York.
At this location the Goddard Riverside Community
Center has the following programs:
- Senior Center
- Options Program - college and career guidance and counseling
- Family Council - advocacy and community education on issues
- Phelps House - residence for the elderly
- Headquarters
